Hi, I’m Oscar and I’m an Engineer. I work on a University campus about 5 miles from home and I commute on my Dahon HIT.
I’d buy a HIT any day of the week. It was launched as a Pandemic Bike! It was aimed at people who are new to cycling wanted to get around whilst preserving social distance. Dahon did a great thing here and instead of offering a cheap bike which would fail pretty quickly they took the MARINER and made it less expensive by using a single colourway and stripping back extras and using Dahon own components rather than branded components.
They still back it with a great warranty but offer it at a price point which will help people who need some extra help. I really like that! Helping others is a great lifestyle value in my books. I bought my HIT with mudguards and a rack from Halfords. There is an option to have the bike stripped right down for a lower price which excludes mudguards and a rack but since I’ll be using mine all year round to get into the labs I opted for some protection.
